What does Delilah mean by her charge that Samson’s heart is not with her?
Judges 16:15 (ESV)
15And she said to him, “How can you say, ‘I love you,’ when your heart is not with me? You have mocked me these three times, and you have not told me where your great strength lies.”
Delilah means by this that Samson won’t be honest with her, that he does not trust her. The irony is great, since Delilah herself was far from honest and forthcoming with Samson about her motives.
15 And she said to him, “How can you say, ‘I love you,’ when your heart is not with me? You have mocked me these three times, and you have not told me where your great strength lies.”
