Delilah has now failed three times to discover the secret of Samson’s strength. So she adopts the tactic of blackmail that was used by Samson’s Timnite wife in Judges 14:16–17. Delilah says that Samson’s love for cannot be real if his heart is not with her, and she includes a twofold accusation that he has deceived her.1
15 And she said to him, “How can you say, ‘I love you,’ when your heart is not with me? You have mocked me these three times, and you have not told me where your great strength lies.”
