The sound of praise for the Lord is exuberant in this verse. There are plenty of reasons for this.
After all, his works are immeasurable in number, and all of them witness of God’s wisdom. The poet expresses his wonder at the great number of God’s works, each one at the same time having its adjustment in accordance with its design, and all, mutually serving one another, cooperating one with another.
1 That is why it is fitting that man shows awe for the great Creator (compare Job 28:28). The earth is, after all, filled with his creatures.
Right away, this is for us a strong encouragement to be extremely frugal with all that God has made. May the refrain of Psalm 8:1 and Psalm 8:9, “O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!” urge all of us to praise this wise and mighty Lord.
24 O LORD, how manifold are your works! In wisdom have you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures.
