The term translated as “glory” denotes the weight, the gravitas, the splendour that belongs to Jesus Christ (not only because of his divinity but) specifically because of his success in atoning for sin and so reconciling sinners to God. In the language of Genesis 3:15, this seed of the woman crushed the head of the serpent, a deed that makes him worthy of all glory and praise and honor in all eternity (Revelation 5:11–14).
10 And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.
