1. Galatians 1:6–7 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

Why does Paul say that a different gospel is no gospel at all?

Galatians 1:6–7 (ESV)

6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel

The intruders in the Galatian churches were not clarifying the gospel but teaching a different (changed) gospel.1 Their message is thus no longer the good news of what Jesus has done.2 It is not consistent with the message that Jesus Christ gave Paul to communicate. It is not a message that has the power to save from God’s wrath (Romans 1:16).
