It is possible that the individuals who came to Galatia and distorted the gospel stressed the connection between the law and the angels through whom it was mediated (Galatians 3:19).1 Paul makes it clear that the authority of the gospel is not primarily seated in the messenger (a man or an angel) but the message itself.2 The truth depends on the content and not the credentials of the messenger.3
8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed.
