As is clear from Revelation 1:1, Christ Jesus shared this Revelation with John indirectly, via an angel as his messenger. One could assume that since the message came indirectly, it is somehow of lesser importance. But here Jesus presses upon all hearers that the angel spoke as his messenger and so his message must be embraced.
16 “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star.”
