What is the significance of the “purple cloth” to cover the bronze altar?
Numbers 4:13 (ESV)
13And they shall take away the ashes from the altar and spread a purple cloth over it.
Apparently, this colour was inferior in quality to the more beautiful scarlet cloths in which the items of the Holy Place were to be enveloped, showing its comparative ranking and that it belongs outside the Holy Place.
