The inheritance that God has promised to those who belong to him comes not from an imperfect keeping of the Mosaic law but from trusting in Christ.1 Christ is the true Son of God and those united to him by faith will share in the inheritance that he was won through his perfect obedience to God’s law. Faith is thus the means of becoming a son and union with Christ is the grounds for sonship.2
