Taking on flesh, God the Son was subject to the terms of the Mosaic law. He was a Jew, born into the people who lived subject to old covenant law. Throughout his life, Jesus lived obediently under God’s law, fulfilling all that the law demanded (Matthew 5:17–18).1 His life stands in stark contrast with the rest of humanity, where sinful men continually violate God’s will.2
