What does Galatians 5:13-18 reveal about what God does in my place and on my behalf (Son)?
Jesus Christ has freed me from being under the law. Because he perfectly obeyed God’s law in my place, when God looks at me, he sees the obedience of Jesus. Jesus Christ also freed me from the penalty of law breaking. Because I have not, and cannot, perfectly obey God’s law, I stand under curse. Jesus Christ however has borne the curse that my law breaking deserves, dying in my place.
13 For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
