The aim of your sermon is to explain the place of God’s law in the life of the Christian, as well as the work of the Spirit. You will begin by showing how God’s law reveals what love looks like and is the standard of love that we are to pursue. You will then explain how the Holy Spirit is working in us to empower us for obedience and help us fight against our sinful desires. Make it clear that we will never reach perfection in this life, and that we must not doubt our salvation when we sin.
