Fruit of the Spirit
is a reference to concrete manifestations of the Spirit’s work in the life of the believer. There are parallels in John 15:1–27 and Matthew 7:16.1 The Spirit does not produce lots of different fruit in different believers,2 so that one believer has one fruit and another has a different fruit. Rather, he is talking about a cluster to be seen in each believer.3 The Spirit wants, and helps, all believers to grow in godly living.4
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
