Matthew 5:27–32 (ESV)

27 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’

  • With regards to adultery, Jesus never objectified another man or woman. He treated people with dignity and respect, and did not harbour any illicit desires in his heart. His heart was perfectly pure, his desires were only ever to do the will of the Father. As a result, he could give his life on the cross to die the death that adulterers deserve.
