The phrase at the beginning of this verse can be translated as Then Jesus entered a house
or Then Jesus went home
. The only house which has been specifically identified thus far in Mark’s gospel is the house of Simon and Andrew in Capernaum (Mark 1:29). This is most likely the house where Jesus was when he healed the paralytic (Mark 2:1–12) and we can confidently assume that it was this same house to which he now returned. Capernaum is also right next to the Sea of Galilee, the place where Jesus withdrew with his disciples in Mark 3:7.
20 Then he went home, and the crowd gathered again, so that they could not even eat.
