Pagans do not have a concept of God who cares for his people (1 Peter 5:7). As such, they think that they must manipulate the gods in some way in order wake them up so that they will look after them. By contrast, God knows the needs of his people (Isaiah 65:24) and he is ready to respond to the prayers of his people (Psalm 55:22; Isaiah 30:19; Luke 11:9–13; Luke 18:1–5; Romans 8:26–28; Revelation 6:9–11).1
8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
