The last verse of Solomon’s address to the people mentions a specific matter that the building of the temple had accomplished. It provided a place for the ark of the covenant. Solomon reminded his hearers that the ark is a witness to God’s faithfulness in the past in bringing the people out of Egypt.
21 And there I have provided a place for the ark, in which is the covenant of the LORD that he made with our fathers, when he brought them out of the land of Egypt.”
