The goal of your sermon is to encourage God’s people to by guided by his Word whilst we wait for the return of Jesus Christ. Show how the LORD guides his servant David and encouraged him through the words spoken by Jonathan. Reflect on how our Lord Jesus Christ was guided during his time on earth. Emphasise the fact that the LORD has given us minds to reason and reflect on what he has revealed in his Word so that we can make decisions that are consistent with it (cf. Colossians 1:9–12). You want to help Christians to allow Bible truths to influence their daily decision making.
