What is the prohibition in these verses?

Leviticus 17:13 (ESV)

13 “Any one also of the people of Israel, or of the strangers who sojourn among them, who takes in hunting any beast or bird that may be eaten shall pour out its blood and cover it with earth.

While these animals are not used as sacrifices, the basic command remains the same; the blood may not be consumed. This command is expressed in an emphatic way (לוֹ followed by an imperfect verb).
