1. Hebrews 2:9 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

Where does Jesus enjoy glory and honour?

Hebrews 2:9 (ESV)

9 But we see him who for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.

Since his ascension, Jesus shares in heavenly glory. The author says, with the words of Psalm 8, the same as before in Hebrews 1:3, Hebrews 1:13 and in Hebrews 1:6: the Son holds an honourable position and receives honour from the Father and from the angels. The glory promised in Psalm 8 is the exalted position that the Son has already achieved in the heavenly world. He has already reached the honorary platform!1
