In context, God’s will is for his name to be honoured and his kingdom to come in fullness.1 This means that the believer is praying for God’s revealed will (as expressed in his law)2 to be acknowledged and obeyed in this world.3 At present, God’s revealed will is obeyed in heaven without question. The believer longs for the day when this will also be the reality here on earth. This implies that the believer will commit to learning more about God’s will (so as to obey it) and obeying God’s will (as he learns more about it from God’s Word).4
10 Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
