Pagans run after possessions. Since pagans do not know God as Father, they think that they are responsible for seeing to their needs. Because pagans worship gods that do not care for them, they have no guarantee of someone looking out for them and their interests.1 As a result, pagans are consumed with procuring possessions and worry about basic needs.2
32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.
