1. Matthew 6:33 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

Whose kingdom should be sought?

Matthew 6:33 (ESV)

33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

As in the Lord’s Prayer, disciples must seek first the kingdom of God.1 Before living in accordance with their own agenda and desires, they must pursue God’s agenda and desires.2 Practically this means disciples must seek to please God their Father by living in a manner that is consistent with his revealed will (Matthew 5:21-6:18).
