1. Matthew 6:34 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

What are the troubles that each day has?

Matthew 6:34 (ESV)

34 “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Trouble refers to the challenges that come with living in a world under God’s curse (Genesis 3:14–19). Until the return of Christ, there will be hardship, suffering, and disease. Christians are not free from these problems (Matthew 5:3–12). Rather than worrying about future problems, disciples should concern themselves with the challenges that are brought by each day. They should focus on those things about which they can actually do something, rather than worrying about things over which they have no control.
