Revelation 22:6–21 forms the epilogue to the Revelation that Jesus Christ had shown to John. Commentators struggle to find a fitting way to break this epilogue into distinct subsections. Revelation 22:6–11 presses home the reliability of what the Lord has revealed to John and so describes what a fitting response to this revelation ought to be. Revelation 22:12–17 focuses on the actual return of Jesus Christ and thus the need to be prepared for the dispensing of just rewards that accompanies his arrival.
