We have read of these seven stars already in Revelation 1:16 and Revelation 1:20. Jesus had explained that these seven stars are the angels of the seven churches.
In the commentary on Revelation 1:20 we had concluded that the angels
referred to the messenger from each church who was present on Patmos to receive a copy of John’s record of the Revelation Jesus showed him so that each messenger might in turn carry Christ’s message back to his
church and read it there (see Revelation 1:3). The Word of Jesus Christ is of course the tool the Holy Spirit uses to change people to be the new creation the Lord wants them to be.
