Seven times
means repeatedly, multiple times
(see also Matthew 18:21–22). Be forever willing to repeatedly forgive, always honouring the signs of repentance. For that is the attitude we see with Jesus, yes, with God the Father. This is fitting for those who follow Jesus.
This forgiving attitude is to be shown by Christians in this often harsh world. This is how they can make others curious, and make them ask, How can you people keep doing that?
4 and if he sins against you seven times in the day, and turns to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him.”
