There are already now some echoes of the story of Lot and Sodom in Genesis 19:1–29. There, visitors (angels) arrive at the wicked city in the evening. They plan to stay in the open square, but Lot prevails upon them. They stay in his house, where he prepares a feast for them, showing them gracious hospitality (Genesis 19:1–3).
