Acts 9:19–31 emphasises the fact that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. This draws attention to his divinity and his humanity. He is one person who is fully God and fully man. Since he is fully God, he is able to bear the wrath of God against sin without being destroyed himself. Since he is fully man, he can represent man to God and die in the place of sinful men. Since he is a righteous man, he was able to perfectly obey God’s law and die as an innocent in the place of the guilty.
