In the parable, the faithful and wise servant is the one who is looking after the servants of the master by giving them their food at the proper time. The teaching point is that God’s blessing lies on those who are found to be faithful in serving Christ when he returns.1 It is important to realize that the faithful servant does not know when his master will return; he is simply found to be faithful by the master when he comes back because he continued to be faithful day by day.
46 Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes.
