Lamentations 4:14 (ESV)

14 They wandered, blind, through the streets; they were so defiled with blood that no one was able to touch their garments.

The priests, who are supposed not to touch dead bodies (Numbers 19:11), and the prophets, who thought they knew better than Jeremiah, are in a pathetic situation now. They go through the streets like blind people, with blood on their clothes. This is in line with the curse in Deuteronomy 28:28–29: “The Lord will strike you with madness and blindness and confusion of mind, and you shall grope at noonday, as the blind grope in darkness.”
