Job 42:9 (ESV)

9 So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went and did what the LORD had told them, and the LORD accepted Job’s prayer.

It must be severely humiliating for the three friends to go to Job and ask for his intercessory prayer. Yet this is what the three friends do. They, too, bow before God in repentance.

By praying for them, Job shows that he has the spirit of Christ, who would later also pray for his false accusers (Luke 23:34). Job’s prayer is accepted, another sign of God’s favour toward him.
