Deuteronomy 4:22 (ESV)

22 For I must die in this land; I must not go over the Jordan. But you shall go over and take possession of that good land.

Moses could not hide his longing: he knew he would die in this land, not in that good land, the land beyond the Jordan. Yet he says this to reinforces his warning. If this was the judgment for him, then why would it be much different for a rebellious people?
