The positive of the warning is now made clear. If Israel were punished on account of disobedience, their futile actions would drive them to seek again the Lord their God. Idolatry would awaken their longing for the true God. And God would remain faithful to his promise, and so they would find him if they sought after him with all their heart and soul.
29 But from there you will seek the LORD your God and you will find him, if you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul.
