The return from exile will lead to worship. The temple vessels must be taken back to Jerusalem so that they can be used in the new temple that will be built. The return from exile thus has a lot of parallels with the exodus from Egypt: God’s people are rescued so that they can come and worship him. This rescue is something that God does from beginning to end, thereby showing that he is in complete control of history working to keep his promises.
