What does it mean that Bethel will have no one to quench it (the fire)?
Amos 5:6 (ESV)
6Seek the LORD and live, lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and it devour, with none to quench it for Bethel,
The reference of it in this verse is to the fire that the Lord will send to sweep through the house of Joseph and devour Bethel. No one will be able to stop this fire. No one will be able to stop God’s judgment.
