The title of the hymn stresses the sovereignty of the Lord, his covenant relationship with Israel, and his power through leadership of the heavenly hosts and the army of Israel. The main aim of the hymn is to convey the idea that God is present everywhere, thus there is no place to hide from him. Everything that he promised (Amos 9:1–4) he can do.
