The phrase under her feet
recalls the formulation of Psalm 8:6, where the psalmist recalls the dominion God gave to the human race in Paradise (see further Genesis 1:26–28). If the moon is under her feet, how much more the creatures of earth. This designation connects her to Jesus Christ, enthroned in heaven with all creation under his feet.
