What does the Lamb's ownership of the book of life point to?

Revelation 13:8 (ESV)

8 and all who dwell on earth will worship it, everyone whose name has not been written before the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who was slain.

The Lamb who was slain is the Lamb who was standing in Revelation 5:6 and thus triumphant, thereby guaranteeing the salvation of those whom the Father had given to him. Throughout Revelation 13:1–10 there were numerous parodies on the Lamb’s triumph in Revelation 5:1–14, as the dragon and the beast sought to show that he/they were better and more impressive than the Lamb. The fact that those whose names are recorded in this book did not worship the beast is evidence of the Lamb’s victory—and points to the beast’s limitations.
