It is significant to notice that John says of the first horse that it “went out” to accomplish what it was intended to accomplish (Revelation 6:2). This note is missing in relation to the second, third, and fourth horses. These horses have received ability and a mandate but have not necessarily acted immediately upon their abilities as soon as the Lamb opened the relevant seal. In the meantime the first horse remains deeply in action, “conquering and to conquer.”
2 And I looked, and behold, a white horse! And its rider had a bow, and a crown was given to him, and he came out conquering, and to conquer.
