In Revelation 6:10, the souls under the altar had called out to God, “How long before you will judge and avenge our blood?” They were told “to rest a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and their brothers should be complete, who were to be killed as they themselves had been” (Revelation 6:11). We are now told that during the period they had to wait, the angel would place a mark on each of these “fellow servants,” here called “servants of our God.” The angel needs time to accomplish his task.
3 saying, “Do not harm the earth or the sea or the trees, until we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads.”
