Jesus had mentioned “living water” in his conversation with the Samaritan woman (John 4:14). He himself is the “living water” that quenches every thirst. This is promised to those who can stand before the throne on account of Jesus’ blood. His life is their life—forever. As a blessed result every reason for crying and sorrow is taken away (see also Isaiah 25:8; Revelation 21:4).
17 For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of living water, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”
