Why is the sounding of the fifth trumpet delayed by the vison of the eagle?
Revelation 8:13 (ESV)
13Then I looked, and I heard an eagle crying with a loud voice as it flew directly overhead, “Woe, woe, woe to those who dwell on the earth, at the blasts of the other trumpets that the three angels are about to blow!”
The first four plagues have had devastatingly disastrous effects on human thriving. But the Lord wants John and his readers to know that the plagues that follow are more destructive still.
