It is not God who tempts the believer to failure (James 1:13); God tests the faithfulness of believers, desiring a good outcome (Revelation 3:10) while Satan seeks failure. Help is available for those who are tested, not only from Old Testament examples of faithfulness, but also from Jesus, whose faithfulness was tested in every way—including in his suffering (Hebrews 2:18; Hebrews 4:15).
