Before the writer starts describing the motivational examples of the believers from the Old Testament (rest of Hebrews 11), he explains more about how faith sees
the unseen (Hebrews 11:1). All of God’s children believe that God created the world. Who was there? No one (Job 38:4). Why do we all believe it? Because faith opens our eyes to the unseen. Faith hears what the Word of God tells us and accepts it. So, we see with the eyes of faith, and know that our world is created by God.
3 By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.
