Faith looks at the future (see Hebrews 11:1). That is why Moses saw the luxury of Egypt as fleeting. Wisdom in faith is: to know that the things that can be seen are transient or temporary (the same word used for fleeting
in Greek), but the things that are unseen are eternal (2 Corinthians 4:18; compare Jesus’ words in Matthew 6:19–21).
So he (constantly) looked away from the treasures of Egypt to the (eternal) reward of God. God will reward his people because he is just. God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in the service of the saints
(Hebrews 6:10; compare Hebrews 10:35 about the reward). Whoever comes to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards [!] those who seek him
(Hebrews 11:6).
