1. Hosea 2:2–4 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

How should we understand the renewed wrathful language of God in Hosea 2:2-4?

Hosea 2:2–4 (ESV)

2 “Plead with your mother, plead for she is not my wife, and I am not her husband that she put away her whoring from her face, and her adultery from between her breasts;

At the moment, it is clear that nothing has changed among the people. God has made promises for the future. But at present his people are still adulterers, they are chasing other men (gods). Fortunately, there are still people (called children of mother Israel) who are very ashamed of the mother’s sin and distance themselves from it. In verse Hosea 2:2 there is a clear call to conversion: remove the brutal fornication from your life.
