It should not be lost on us that Moses was rescued from death because of the motherly love of the women God had placed in his life (midwives, mother, sister, Egyptian women). Exodus 2:1–25 makes it clear that the affection, compassion, and empathy of mothers toward children would be crucial for the promised Messiah to come. The role of women in the history of the church and in the life of Jesus, serves as a clear testimony of the fundamental role of the motherly love that is found in women from childhood to old age.
