1 Corinthians 7:38 (ESV)

38 So then he who marries his betrothed does well, and he who refrains from marriage will do even better.

The word to marry, which is used twice in this verse, normally means to give in marriage (with the agent normally being the father). In this case, however, it probably has the broader meaning of to cause to marry. A man can decide whether or not he will cause his betrothed to marry him.
