1 Corinthians 10:27 (ESV)

27 If one of the unbelievers invites you to dinner and you are disposed to go, eat whatever is set before you without raising any question on the ground of conscience.

Private social dinners form another point of contact with unbelievers. Already in 1 Corinthians 10:27 Paul assured his readers that it is not wrong to have meals with unbelievers. It may happen that the meat served at such a meal is leftover meat from a sacrifice. If this is not specifically pointed out, the Christian is free to eat it. As with meat sold on the meat market, it is not a matter of the meat itself, but of the (unbeliever’s) conscience.
